Back to my Roots…..

Starting the New Year with new thoughts.   I remember when I was a child and receiving a new box of Prismacolours..!!!    The best coloured pencils one could have and the best one can buy today.     I received a great book for Christmas from my daughter and I have been practising my sketching.   I realized two things… I love detail work and I would love to have a new box of Prismacolours.  Here are 2 sketches I have finished with graphite pencils…but soon I will be posting some in coloured pencils.   I am so inspired!!

Artist in Residence – Exhibition

Artist in Residence for the summer of 2011 has come to a close.  All the artists will gather on Weds. October 5, from 5 to 6:30 pm.  at City Hall in Fredericton  to view all the artistic accomplishments .   I am very proud to have been a part of this .   My piece titled “Larger than Life” is a rendition of the famous statue in Officer’s Square , Lord Beaverbrook.  Painted with oil on a very narrow canvas 12″ x 36″ high, I was able to portray his grandness in every sense of the word.

After the reception tomorrow I will certainly have some pictures to display, but if you are near City Hall between 5 and 6:30 pm.  come and check it out.  These will be on display @ City Hall until November 30th.

Themed Exhibition “Lost and Found”

The Charlotte Street Arts Centre put out an open call to artists to create work for a juried exhibition on the theme of Lost and Found. Works will include found objects, carefully documented items, interactive installations and more. You may even discover that missing sock you’ve wondered about.  The opening reception is Friday, September 16, from 5-8pm.    This is my entry … titled Gone Astray.
